Resources

Here are the best resources that I direct people towards every single day. If you want to create a life with more financial freedom then you don’t have time to waste on subpar resources. Consider this your curated list.  Books I love, courses I recommend, and products I use. Some of these may have an affiliate link, which means I will earn a small referral fee, but the price is exactly the same for you!

Expense Tracking

If you want to create more financial freedom and be able to step away from the 9-5 to chase down your biggest dreams for a month or 5 years, you HAVE to know how much you’re spending. These are my top 3 picks.

Tiller: A really user-friendly budgeting/expense tracking software! Super affordable and a perfect way to track your expenses. Having accurate information is critical to your plan, and Tiller makes it extremely simple.

Personal Capital: This is a one stop shop for tracking your spending and all your investments as well! This an amazing option to keep everything in one spot. Plus it’s totally free! It has an easy interface and lots of great charts to track your progress in income, budgets, cashflow, market growth and net worth!

Good Budget: A simple expense tracker. You can download the app onto your phone or use it via their website. It won’t track your investments like Personal Capital and isn’t as customizable as Tiller, but a great 3rd option. Especially with the fact that you can do it on the go via the app on your smart phone.

Build an extra stream of income

I’m a huge believer that we need to invest, not just in our future, but in ourselves. One of the best ways to finance mini or early retirements is by developing profitable skills you can leverage into an extra stream of income.

Before You Blog Course:

I have compiled everything you need to know to get started with a blog that will actually grow and gain traction. These lessons are just the essentials to get started and nothing else. After working 1-on-1 with a number of new bloggers and having a full mentoring schedule, I’ve distilled everything you need to get started in this course. From day one you can have a blog with a focused niche, clear avatar, and consistent voice. Plus we go over all the nuts and bolts: Your About Me page, opt in offer, welcome letter, branding, and content calendar. And we look ahead on how to market your blog and ways to earn income in the future. If you are serious at all about getting started on the right foot and not wasting months of effort and dozens of posts just spinning your wheels: This is exactly for you! Check out my promo video and course content to see if it’s a great fit.

Earn More Writing course: The very first pay check I made from starting my blog was by getting a freelance writing client. It’s often the fastest and easiest way to start building a side income if you have some writing skills. The need for freelance blog writers is enormous already and quickly growing as every business catches on to the fact they NEED a blog for SEO. For many bloggers, freelance writing can turn into a full-time income in just a few years.

Holly Johnson, who created this course, is a major freelance writer and knows her stuff! Over the last few years, she has grown her freelance income to over $200,000! She shares all the tools and strategies you need to break into the freelance writing market.

SEO course

I knew NOTHING about SEO when I started blogging. Claudia is the SEO master! This course can take you from having zero skills to being able to confidently do a full SEO audit on your own site or other business sites. I was able to vastly improve my own SEO and grow my organic traffic, plus we now are able to help other sites with their SEO.

Blue Host: If you want to start a blog to develop your writing skills, build an audience or start a business, Bluehost is the hosting I recommend. It’s what I use for my site and I’ve had a great experience. Plus if you sign up with my link, I’ll send you a 40% discount coupon for my Before You Blog course. It’s all the best content I’ve offered in my private blog mentoring. (After you sign up, Bluehost will email me, but please also follow up with an email to get your coupon code. montanamoneyadventures@gmail.com) I’d love to help you get going!

Here are my 10 best reasons to start a blog (and 2 horrible ones!)
